Cross This One Off The List

Sunday, July 31st, 2005

Well not that there is actually a list to cross this place off of, but Yaeka is always talking about taking a car camping trip and doing some more day hikes, so it’s good to know that Belfair State Park is not the place to go.

Drowning in CDs

Thursday, July 28th, 2005

Well I think that it must be CD season as I’m starting to feel a bit like I did back at WRCU. Granted at the station I was likely to have well over 50 if not 100 cds to go through at any time, but having a queue of over 20 CDs to review for the website is kind of crazy for me. I guess some of these could be viewed as “optional”, but I really want to be able to review every single CD that I receive in the mail. If you or someone you know is interested in reviewing CDs, please let me know.

Stuff On My Cat

Tuesday, July 26th, 2005

While checking out today’s Rocketboom I became aware of the existence of the website Stuff On My Cat.

It’s kind of like sleeping person/drunk guy jenga that took place on New Year’s. (Scroll to the bottom)

new products

Tuesday, July 26th, 2005

I am a sucker for new products. If it says *NEW* and it doesn’t contain meat products I want to make sure i am not missing out on an experience.
This week i was introduced to wasabi funions, tomato basil wheat thins, and colgate max fresh toothpaste.
Phill thought the toothpaste looked stupid but I bought it anyways.
looks its like it has glitter in it.

The wheat thins are tasty. All my co-workers also enjoyed them. One suggested putting some tampenad on them. good idea.

wasabi funions were better than i thought they would be. often wasabi potato chips don’t taste like wasabi, but the funions did alright in capturing the wasabi essence. didn’t clear my sinus’ but pretty tasty.

picking on the clown

Sunday, July 24th, 2005

This weekend I had to do a company picnic at the nearby state park. While I was at the picnic someone got into my car went through my wallet and stole 80 dollars and a 50 dollar gift certificate to a spa. They left my credit card and though. Guess it could have been worse. theives can go suck the D.

concept

Tuesday, July 19th, 2005

Not a clean picture but this was my first attempt to see if I could manipulate an image with the photostich program. Now I know i can make this concept work. just a matter of getting the image to look really clean.

Phill loves me this much!

Moving on Over

Tuesday, July 19th, 2005

Well thanks to a crazy deal over at Dreamhost that allowed for a purchase of one full year of hosting for under 10 bucks that included more bandwidth and disk space than my current host as well as a free domain registration, I’m finally going to be moving this blog over to phillramey.com in the somewhat near future.

After I get my personal blog moved over, this area will become more of a technology/music related blog. I’m planning on changing the whole front page of The PhiLL(er) to be somewhat more blog-like. I think this will allow for brief news tidbits and greater contribution from writers. At this point I’m also thinking that utilizing wordpress or some other blog interface may be the best way to get contributions from all the columnists that have now disappeared. Anyway, expect some moving around soon. I’ll be sure to keep you posted.

Myspace.com Stop Freaking Out

Tuesday, July 19th, 2005

So I finally got a myspace.com profile up for The PhiLL(er) over the past week or so and now that I’m finally getting into this whole “making friends” thing, I keep getting these stupid errors
!!!

What’s the deal?! For the most part, myspace has been the faster, better featured, and more stable version of Friendster so it sucks to see it getting all out of whack. Myspace does deserve major credit for their excellent music portion of their site. They’ve scored some major deals managing to be the exclusive place on the internet to stream Death Cab for Cuties new single.

Okay, rant over. Do I seem to be complaining a lot about online services lately?

wedding

Monday, July 18th, 2005

this last weekend I went to a high school friends wedding. it was quite beautiful. I made the mistake of having too much wine early in the evening and I didn’t take as many picturs as I would have liked. It was at the seattle yacht club were we enjoyed the ceremony under a tent by the water. after the ceremony was a cocktail hour and tables were set up for dinner, and then we all enjoyed steak and salmon as the sun set over the city.
Here is Mandy and Ian after dinner and cake
